A Team Approach to Executive Recruiting
Teamwork is the key to faster, more effective executive search results. The principals at Whelan Stone, working as a team, do all the recruiting, the interviewing and the closing of each candidate.
Our clients reap the benefits of the expertise and perspective of two seasoned executive search professionals. Another important benefit is that our clients have access to either or both principals during the course of the search.
Importantly, we maintain a small portfolio of executive searches, which means our recruiting efforts are concentrated on your search. We will recruit on your search every day until the person is hired and will communicate the status of the search to you with every-other-day updates. You will always know the status of your search.
Combining the Best of Both Worlds
What makes us different from other executive search firms is the fact that Whelan Stone combines the search disciplines of the larger firms (Position Profile, Candidate Evaluations, etc.) with the service of the smaller boutique firms.
Our small portfolio of searches ensures that both principals will work on your search, recruiting every day to deliver a higher level of service. This is in contrast to large search firms, which usually have more junior level people representing your company to the marketplace.
With Whelan Stone you get a team approach to executive search with senior representation
in the marketplace and the proven effectiveness of the search disciplines.
The Whelan Stone Executive Search Process
Whelan Stone utilizes a three-step process that leads to a successful hire.
1. Understand Your Needs
Before beginning the recruiting process, it is critical to understand your needs in the position. Despite the fact that the titles may be exactly the same, every client has specific recruiting requirements that differ from those of other companies. We spend the necessary up-front time with you to understand your company culture and the nuances of your position, as well as the unique backgrounds required of the candidates.
2. Candidate Evaluation
Potential candidates we recruit are evaluated based on how their experience "maps" to the Selection Criteria. A critical element of this evaluation is how well the candidate will fit into your company's culture. For every candidate presented, a thorough written Candidate Evaluation is developed which provides details on their relevant experience and successes.
3. Closing the Candidate
The final phase of executive recruiting is completing thorough reference and background checks on the candidate selected. Throughout the recruiting process, Whelan Stone works with the candidate to resolve any issues as they arise, thus paving the way for you to make an offer the candidate is ready to accept immediately. This is one of the keys to shortening the search process and getting the candidate on board as soon as possible.
