About UsFRED WHELAN and GLADYS STONE are executive search and coaching professionals. They began
working together in 1995 with a large, multi-national executive search firm, StratfordGroup, and then opened Whelan Stone in 1999. Their book, “GOAL Your 30 Day Game Plan for Business & Career Success” is endorsed by CEO’s of Fortune 500 companies such as Office Depot and The Clorox Company as well as deans of major business schools such as University of Southern California. They also write for The Huffington Post and the career site, Monster. FRED WHELAN began his career in packaged goods marketing, rising to management level positions with H. J. Heinz and Clorox. He then embarked on a 15-year stint in advertising with J. Walter Thompson/SF. He joined the StratfordGroup Search Firm in 1995, significantly growing the Consumer & High Tech Marketing Practice. His last role at StratfordGroup was as the Managing Director. Fred has an MBA from the Wharton Graduate School of the University of Pennsylvania and a BA from the University of Delaware. fred@whelanstone.com GLADYS STONE brings to Whelan Stone a strong background in human resources and financial management, in a variety of industries. After an impressive tenure with the law firm of Sedgwick, Detert, Moran & Arnold where she held the position of Director of Human Resources, she joined StratfordGroup, as a member of the High-Technology Marketing Practice. Gladys continues to leverage her background and go beyond typical search parameters by providing HR counsel to her clients. Gladys has a BA from San Francisco State University. gladys@whelanstone.com Whelan Stone Giving BackWe believe in the importance of supporting our community and especially those less fortunate.One of the ways that Whelan Stone gives back is by our involvement in Students Rising Above, (www.StudentsRisingAbove.org) a Bay Area non-profit organization which invests in low-income, first generation college students who have demonstrated a deep commitment to education and strength of character in overcoming tremendous odds of poverty, homelessness, and neglect . Once in college, the organization continues to support its students with financial aid and help getting part-time jobs to assist with expenses during the college years. We mentor a number of these students as they are about to enter the workplace, and help them with resume development and interviewing skills. The students we work with have amazing stories to tell about overcoming adversity.      .   |
