FRED WHELAN and GLADYS STONE are executive search and coaching professionals. They began working in 1995 with a large, multi-national firm, StratfordGroup, and then opened Whelan Stone in 1999.
During the past decade executive coaching has become an integral part of their business model, and they have effectively counseled executives on how to enhance their leadership skills.

FRED WHELAN began his career in packaged goods marketing, rising to management level positions with H. J. Heinz and Clorox.
He then embarked on a 15-year stint in advertising with J. Walter Thompson/SF.
He joined the StratfordGroup Search Firm in 1995, significantly growing the Consumer & High Tech Marketing
Practice. Fred worked with clients such as AutoZone and Intuit, as
well as venture-backed start-ups. His last role at StratfordGroup was as the Managing Director.
As an executive coach Fred harnesses the latent talents of individuals and brings them to the forefront in a dynamic and productive way. Fred's been quoted in USA Today, the Wall Street Journal and Fortune magazine. He also writes a career blog on The Huffington Post and is the author of "GOAL! Your 30 Day Game Plan for Business & Career Success.".
Fred has an MBA from the Wharton Graduate School of the University of Pennsylvania and a BA from the University of Delaware

GLADYS STONE brings a strong background in human resources and financial management, in a variety of industries, to Whelan Stone.
After an impressive tenure with the law firm of Sedgwick, Detert, Moran & Arnold where she held the position of Director of Human Resources,
Gladys started her recruiting career with a high tech search firm, where she focused on information technology and marketing professionals.
Her clients ranged from management consulting firms such as Computer Sciences Corporation to start-ups.
Gladys joined StratfordGroup as a member of the High-Technology Marketing Practice. In addition to a successful track record in placing
high tech professionals in Director and Vice President positions, Gladys continues to leverage her background and go beyond typical search parameters
by providing HR counsel to her clients.
As an executive coach Gladys zeroes in on the areas of negotiations, higher productivity, and effective leadership. A representative list of clients would include California AAA, Crystal Geyser, and California Academy of Sciences. She also writes a career blog on The Huffington Post and is the author of "GOAL! Your 30 Day Game Plan for Business & Career Success.".
